Beautiful beachfront view at Worth the Coast, Port Saint Joe

Our Story

As a young boy, I was always drawn to adventure. There was an invisible pull toward the unspoiled - rivers, scenic overlooks, hidden trails. I'll never forget the first time I saw the ocean. I was barely a teenager, but it felt like I had found something I didn't even know I was missing.

Even as my go-to beach spots grew crowded, my love for the sea never faded. My wife and I often dreamed of discovering a place along Florida's coast that still felt raw and real, somewhere off the beaten path, far from the crowds and high-rises. A place where the sound of waves washing up on the shore was the only soundtrack in the background.

We found it.

Just southeast of the 30A beaches lies a quiet stretch of coastline that feels like it slipped through time unnoticed. A place where the only "high-rise" is a lighthouse. Where you're more likely to spot pelicans than parasails, and if you're really lucky, a bald eagle or nesting sea turtle.

It's a coastal resort community that offers just enough. You can ride a bike or golf cart to multiple boardwalks that lead to the beach. There's a central hub with a mercantile for snacks, sundries, or cocktails to-go. There's beer on tap, live music on weekends, and a pizza place we swear is one of Florida's best. There's even a candy and ice cream shop for the kids (or the kid in you), and a fitness center if you're feeling ambitious.

It's the rare kind of place where you don't feel like you've left civilization, just the chaos.

We love this photo of the fire and sunset because from that very spot, in that moment, we decided to make this place part of our story.

We don't live here full-time, but we open our home to kindred spirits: people who crave beauty, quiet adventure, and a deep, authentic peace. The kind of peace Larry Fleet sang about, that can't be found in a bottle or a pill.

That's what you'll find here. It's wild, but peaceful. Not polished. Not crowded. Not 30A.

It's real. And that's what gives it the soul so many places have lost.

We call our home Worth the Coast not just because it's coastal, but because it's worth the time, the effort, and the sacrifice it took to get here.

And we hope, when you come, you'll feel that too.
